Lot 279 Family

From My Family to Yours,

I’m so glad you decided to join us here at the Albers household. Let me start by introducing myself and my family. My name is Blake Albers and I founded Lot 279 in 2018. I have a wonderful family that consists of my wife Brit, who is a dentist, our son Herb, who is around a year and a half old, and my Au Pair Chuy. My parents, Jeff & Ann, had five children (counting me of course) and raised us in Wisner, Nebraska where I now live with my own family. So, as you can imagine with four other siblings and the fact we all live within a 15 mile radius of each other, there is rarely a dull moment with my family. I also run Lot 279 with the help of my sister Callie.

So, a little bit about our family business. Lot 279 was started on the hopes of bringing high quality meat from our family feedlot to the homes in northeast Nebraska. My family has been running a feedlot since the early 1900s. We built our feedlot on the Northern County line in Wisner, Nebraska where it has remained to this day. Our operation has been taken over from generation to generation ever since. We take pride in raising high quality beef fed from our own crop production and held to the highest of standards. This then gave the ideas for the Albers Beef brand. We give you beef your family can feel good about and even know exactly where it came from. Our policy is to always be open and honest about our brand with anyone who asks. So, from feedlot to butcher shop here we are! Our goal for Lot 279 is to bring you a convenience the grocery store can’t, all while keeping the quality of meat the best it can be. We want to give you more time to spend with your family to cook dinner and hang out, rather than running around a grocery store for a few hours.

That being said that’s where my blog comes in. My wife Brit and I want to encourage families around Nebraska and everywhere to slow down and spend more time with their families. Throughout this last year I think its safe to say we reached a point where everyone was forced to slow down and spend more time at home. We saw a huge blessing out of this because we cooked as family more than we ever had before. That’s our encouragement to you, and naturally were here to help with that!

Our blog will revolve around our family time, cooking adventures, and family recipes. All that will be put here to help you and encourage you with your own family cooking! Whether you need step by step guidance or just fun recipe ideas I plan to have it all.  We use all our own beef for cooking and hope to encourage you to try different cuts and steaks through these posts.

I love my family and the time I’ve got to spend with them, but the memories we make in the kitchen are some that are really special to me. I hope through this blog you see that and get encouragement of your own to do the same. Brit and I are always open to answering any and all questions you have whether it’s food or family related.

Wishing You All The Best, Albers Family
